March 15-17, 2019
Age: Almost O-N-E!
Whooo – it took us a while to make a trip in 2019, but ready to get going again! I was excited to get back to Chicago and get introduced to how the city celebrates St. Patrick’s Day!
We had a nice relaxed dinner at Club Lago (authentic Italian) on Friday night, so we could be prepared for a big day of fun Saturday. Before winding down, we took in the views of Art on theMART which was really cool! I liked watching the vibrant lights and am still amazed that they don’t interfere with any of the windows on this massive building.

My Aunt Jacqueline prepared a yummy, festive feast to kick off our Saturday celebration with plenty of brunch options to get us fueled for the day! Mama’s friend Sarah also created some extra creative cookies to share with us.

It was neat to see the river transform to green and later in the day we made our way to Navy Pier to cruise the lake for the perfect skyline views on a beautiful blue sky day for March! I explored a dance floor for the first time – and, had a blast tearing it up while we cruised by the city views. Mom & Dad were also told by a group onboard that their son will “grow up to be awesome”…but, I think we’ve already got that covered ☺️

As we made it back to land, we strolled through Navy Pier and gave the latest exhibit out front called LOOP a test drive – almost a mix of a photo view finder, hamster wheel, and row boat!

As we explored more of the city to close out the night, we made a stop at one of the stable city favorites, the Billy Goat Tavern and got to meet the owner, Sam Sianis (the son of the original founder). Sam was very kind and gifted me my very own Billy Goat Tavern T-shirt. I’ll now have the perfect St. Patrick’s Day attire for many years to come 😉

I also had a great time playing peekaboo with Gizmo (and in the mirrors on the elevator) during this trip!!

Mom & Dad’s favorites that helped me most included:
– Fisher Price Fidget Cube – provided plenty of entertainment for the car ride!

– No thumb mittens – nothing fancy, but what a difference it makes to keep my little hands warm and not have to struggle to get them on quickly.
A quick, but memorable visit (also, my last trip before I turn O-N-E). Until next time, Windy City!
