Mom & Dad were impressed by how well I traveled the nearly 28 hours door to door to arrive to Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. I loved watching the airplanes at O’Hare before we departed and enjoyed every minute of being on our extra large aircraft (767) with LOT Airlines. I even received my own LOT bib, activity book, and cool pack of colored pencils w/built in sharpener. Although my parents packed a ton of activities to keep me busy, I ended up sleeping almost the entire long flight to Warsaw where we then had a quick flight via a propeller plane to our first destination (Prague).

What a cool city! It’s so clean here, and the people have been so nice. I’ve enjoyed making friends at each stop – all the restaurants have kindly given me a yummy cookie or candy to try and plenty of high fives 🙂

As we settled into the city, we had a relaxing dinner on the Square night 1 followed by an excellent brunch with a view the next morning before diving into the local wine festival. As we wrapped our afternoon at the New Town Hall (wine festival), is when I got introduced to incredible pork stuffed dumplings covered in sauerkraut! Yummmm…

The Prague Castle (look a like of the Red Keep for any Game of Thrones fans), Prague Eiffel Tower, and St. Charles Bridge were some of the most famous sights spotted. However, the most fun was seeing the city by eBike! The family loved this creative way to cover a lot of ground in a relatively brief tour (~4 HRs). It was a gorgeous weather day to cruise through the cobblestone streets, take in the views, and get a better sense of the local vibe. We particularly liked the view from the Petrin Gardens/park and monastery.

(Jet leg caught me, so I took a short snooze on the bike)

Mom’s blog will have all the details; but, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten to eat so many carbs! Delicious bread, dumplings, and so many new treats have made this an extra exciting vacation! I especially enjoyed sharing pancakes with Mama here!

Hopeful to return to this history rich city one day. Now, on to Poland [I’m getting much better at navigating these cobblestone streets of all sizes]!

Most helpful products for this trip (really, the basics):

  • Stroller with pneumatic tires to easily cruise on the cobblestone streets (we picked up a running stroller from a consignment shop to avoid ours getting damaged by the airlines or uneven streets)
