Age: 5 Months
Nashville was a blast – although Mom was busy at her conference most of the week at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Dad and I got into a lot of fun!
Dad & I hit the town early in the week and got to check out the Parthenon in Centennial Park, ate breakfast at the Frothy Monkey, made a quick visit to the #ibelieveinnashville mural, strolled down Music Row, enjoyed lunch at Tin Roof, and stopped into Honky Tonks like The Stand on Broadway. Pretty sure Dad wanted to make sure I knew all Nashville had to offer just in my first day around the city! No celebrity sightings; but, we did get to see the opening of Luke Bryan’s new bar. Dad found my Graco umbrella stroller to be a huge help for easily getting me around the city!

We also enjoyed checking out the following throughout the week in Nashville:
⁃ Nashville #whatliftsyou mural
⁃ The Fontanel Mansion: A 27,000 sq ft log cabin (one of the largest in the world) built in 1988 for Barbara and her family. The name Fontanel, which is the soft spot on a baby’s head, was picked by Barbara Mandrell because she wanted this to be the “soft spot” for her family and bring them all together. It was pretty cool to have the chance to pick up guitars & memorabilia of Jewel, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, and more famous artists who have found this haven to be perfect for creative time/special recordings/song writing, etc. Although a little “touristy” it was truly a unique space.

⁃ Some photo ops outside the Grand Ole Opry

⁃ The Nashville Zoo: what a cool, underrated spot! The natural decor and many interactive exhibits – including walking alongside kangaroos and goats – made for an extra fun visit! I enjoyed watching the meerkats, flamingos, and all the wildlife found between the thick layers of bamboo (like the koi fish). We’ll have to return when I get a little bigger to be able to ride the zip line style ride. “Flying” looks fun!

– Strolled past some iconic downtown locations like – Luke Bryan’s, Florida Georgia Line, and the Johnny Cash Museum.

– Also enjoyed the beautiful Nashville Symphony building and took a great walk through the Music City Walk of Fame Park, and Country Music Hall of Fame!

Although I’m just starting to eat some good food these days (which, Mom & Dad have been making me at home; but, while on the road this week I got to try pears and apples for the first time with Gerber’s “My First Fruits” starter kit which was great for life on the go), my parents mentioned they had some Nashville favorites this week at:
We’ll have to get back for a guys trip again when I’m older to explore more of Broadway – and we can leave my teethers behind 😉
